McClatchy Newspapers, Washington, D.C. (1/09 – Present)

Intern. Report and write daily and trend stories for McClatchy’s D.C. bureau and wire service. Researched and collaborated on bureau projects.

American University, Washington D.C. (9/08 – 12/08)

Research Assistant. Responsible for compiling data and initiating contact for an international journalism school directory. Also researched and helped implement other projects, including the synthesis of cross-platform information using web design elements and interactive mapping abilities.

Satriwithaya School, Pranakorn, Bangkok, Thailand (5/06 – 5/08)

Teacher. Responsible for designing lesson plans and writing exams for high school students aged 14-18 in the Intensive English program.  Developed curriculum focused on English language literature, meant to develop critical thinking skills for students trained in an Asian school system without any prior experience in this area.  Manage all responsibilities of regular classroom teacher, including advising and recommending students for university.

Teacher.  Taught both Mathematics and Computer Skills in English to students aged 10 – 12.  Integrated English instruction into all subject matter.  Designed lesson plans and wrote exams.  Incorporated technology into curriculum. 

US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, Washington DC (9/04 – 5/05)

Paid Intern. Responsible for creating and maintaining online database and updating webpage for non-partisan non-profit organization. Wrote and edited press releases, participated in and organized grassroots advocacy campaigns.  Supported staff by preparing documents, performing administrative tasks and completing organizational projects within office.
